Under the Australian Meat and Live-Stock Industry Act 1997 all Export Abattoirs and Export Boning Rooms must hold AUS-MEAT Accreditation. AUS-MEAT Accreditation is optional for Domestic registered Abattoirs and Boning Rooms. Abattoirs / Boning Rooms wishing to be accredited by AUS-MEAT must implement an AUS-MEAT approved quality management system designed to ensure consistency of quality and accurate product description.
